Two concerts for the price of one

In London, the world’s greatest classical music festival, BBC Proms, is held every summer. Many concerts take place at the famous Royal Albert Hall. When the hall dedicated to the husband of Queen Victoria, Prince Albert was opened in 1871, only 36 events were organized.

Today at the Royal Albert Hall there are nearly 400 concerts a year. In 2021, the 150th anniversary of its founding will be celebrated. On this occasion, 'The Great Excavation' project is created as a tribute to the Great Exhibition of 1851, which funded the creation of the area we now know as Albertopolis.
One of the buildings in Albertopolis is Royal Albert Hall. From the book by Harold Schonberg, Horowitz. His Life and His Music, we learn that „Albert Hall, which seated about seven thousand, had [at the time of Vladimir Horowitz's concerts] terrible acoustics and an echo. It was said of this hall that you could hear two concerts there for the price of one.”
